I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Enjoying the last few days of summer before fall hits and hits hard – its going from sunny and hot this weekend to below freezing and snow on Tuesday. WTF. I love this area around the Muttart Conservatory- the neighborhood is really cozy and intimate.
Enjoying the sunny blue skies outside the conservatory.
Lots of green out and about still.
Saw this bizarre looking flower in the front. I never bothered to get into horticulture so I have no idea what I am looking at.
More pretty flowers out at the garden.
Big juicy leaves out in the patio area.
Had a massive laugh at this- its an article talking about the decline in human ability through video games- except that’s not even a video game player- that’s my very first digital camera, the Sony DSC-F77 Cybershot with a rotating lens to allow for selfies before selfies was even a word. I love when media people Google stock images without actually understanding what;’s in the picture.
Lots of Sony love still these days. The QZ1 is really insane- that’s it mounted to an e-mount to a-mount adapter and then a monster G lens. This can pair with your smartphone.
I don’t know why you would do that but I’m sure there are plenty of creative juices that could be brought onto this set up.
OMG I want to listen to this. The only thing holding me back from screaming in pure excitement is that I absolutely FREAKING LOVE my Sony MDR-SA3000 headphones and can be tamed with some fantastic sound already.
Single arm shoulder press today- really really realized how bad my left arm is- its fantastically weaker than my right and it seems to be very very injury prone. I have to figure out how to better stretch it because its super tender. I also dropped a TON of weight off my shoulder press. I originally started with this press before I went to the Smith machine for military presses. I have a feeling I will move over to free weights in shoulder very soon. Enjoyed this much more than the Smith machine.
Deadlift day. Really feeling it in my lower back still but happy to be doing anything not using my arms as much since my left arm sucks.
Enjoying campus first day of school (NOT AS A STUDENT IN A CLASS!). Gonna be really busy working with multiple classes.
King Noodle for monster pho
Number 1 every time all the time.
They’ve recently decorated the place up- its brighter and still feels like a hole in the wall with DELICIOUS pho.
Hot chili peppers that are more than I can handle and I love hot. And these are pretty mild in terms of hot peppers I believe.
My favorite bowl of beef pho.
Green beans for dinner.
Steamed pork ribs and eggplant.
FALL IS HERE. Le sad.
Lots of yellow everywhere. Going to be really fun taking the last flash of yellow before everything falls down for winter.
Grey dusk on the river valley.
Eating at Culina cafe at the Muttart. Pickled carrots for sale.
Eggs benedict for brunch. This was pretty tasty.
Breakfast burrito- I think it looked better than it tasted. It was a little bland.
Somebody put a freaking swing on the bird sculpture at the hills by Muttart. It felt very unsafe to sit on it, but it was very cute. Somebody also climbed the statue to get the rope on and left a bunch of stickers there to let people know they climbed it. I remember trying to climb it many years ago and it was impossible. Or my upper body strength was crap and I could climb.
BBQ at Government House park. Didn’t have enough wood and hulk smashed this dead tree into the right sizes. Finally all that gym work paid off! I felt pretty proud of this. To be clear the tree was dead. I wouldn’t destroy a living tree to avoid buying firewood.
BBQing some skewers.
Chicken wings.
Steaks on the grill
Lots of heat thanks to my brave firewood gathering abilities.
Taking a shot across the river.
Building a campfire for the first time with my family! Had a blast with my parents and in laws.
I made the right choice with the Sony A6000. Its shots like this where I realize having a large sensor is AWESOME. So glad I chose it. I still have a ton of work to do to master this camera and shoot as comfortable as I did on my Nikons but so far I feel its a huge upgrade.
