Leftover chicken breast, cheddar, tomato and whole wheat bread. A delish supper.
Just really no nonono. The crabmeat salad was iceberg lettuce and mayo. EW.
And this is where you can realize that its a bad choice. Its a sushi joint that sticks out the side of a motel. Sigh.
M wanted to repay us with all you can eat sushi at Sushi Garden. It was terrible haha. All you can eat sushi tends to be as such. This reminded me of getting Chinese food in Florida. Lots of variety, almost all of it disgusting. There was mayo and deep fried flakes everywhere. SO MUCH MAYO.
It looks ominous just sitting there. I could never do professional moving. Its too terrifying haha.
Backing the pool table into M’s driveway.
Helped M move a pool table from one of our old daycare kid’s parents basement to his home. This thing was a biotch to get out of their super tight corner basement stairs!
All the parts splayed out. Here I am replacing the obsolete optical drive with a secondary hard drive caddy. Put in a 7,200RPM WD Scorpio Black in for storage and the Intel as the boot drive.
I immediately tore the packaging open at the FEDEX depot. A guy parked by me was watching me, like watching a kid tear open their Christmas gifts. It was awesome.
She’s booting up! This was pretty late in the night already, and I was determined to at least burn all the recovery discs and start loading the OS onto the Intel SSD. It took me into like 4 AM last night. A little crazy to just burn some DVDs (7 of them!) and load them onto what should be a super fast drive. The laptop is superb. I love it so much. And the Walkman Z it came with is AWESOME. It sounds so good with a new EQ I made for it. This is such a good purchase OMG. UPDATE- I LOVE THIS COMPUTER. Its so fast! With the dual SSD/HDD combo and the VAIO instant on feature, I am getting sub-10second boot times and wake from hibernation is so instant. Damn. This is a lot faster than my desktop rig that is running a similar SSD/HDD setup but with a Core 2 Duo and not the i5 in the VAIO. And the numeric keypad is so awesome. I can’t imagine going back to a keyboard without one. The trackpad is a bit wonky though, the Mac trackpad is worlds better and way more reliable and less prone of making stroke mistakes.
Took my laptop apart to install all the new goodies I had picked up from the store the other night. Removed the battery panel and was pleased to find that it was made of magnesium alloy and had the name stamped in like a proud badge. Also found out that magnesium shatters when it gets hit, as within 24 hours of finally getting my hands on my dream laptop after months of anticipation I managed to drop it onto hard stone tile and a corner chipped off a sliver of magnesium. I was pissed but not really. Its like scratching a new car and just saying whatever and letting go of the anxiety of scuffing up a new shiny object. I’m glad the chip wasn’t anything worse. I hope I can super glue the chip back in. *UPDATE- Now that I have Krazy Glued the chipped corner off back on, I feel so happy haha. It didn’t glue back correctly but now the oddity makes this my laptop mine haha. Did I mention that I freaking love this computer?
