SO I thought I was done with my treasure hunting, but managed to snag a surprise Sony VAIO desktop all in one machine – the VAIO J. Specs are i3 dual core processor, 500GB platter drive at 7200 RPM, Nvidia 310m that is not recognized by Windows 10 for the life of me, and 4gb ram. So far its been absolutely a champ despite the lack of GPU support- seriously cannot get it running despite my VAIO F1 running a 310m perfectly-I’m thinking it was because I did a clean install vs an upgrade on the F1- will be doing that next. Windows 10 is really good on this- they optimized the touch screen really well. Originally was Windows 7 Home- and it was awful for touch screen support. Poorly calibrated touch points meant you miss what you are trying to touch, and UI elements that are clearly meant for mouse/keyboard interfaces. Won’t be going back to the original OS despite the GPU. Overall really happy I managed to find this- now I have a Sony desktop! Realized that doing meets at Tim Hortons is really dumb because they don’t have ANY outlets available for testing devices.
H experiencing the joys of the slide. Still dont trust her coordination to go down by herself.
Shes experiencing sand, and sand in every corner of her shoe. I got so many mosquitoe bites that evening.
Really enjoying the greenery busting out all over the city now- one of my favorite stair sets taht just really opens up- this picture doesn’t do it justice.
H checking out the city’s trails.
Newly renovated Pho Hoa in WEM- really enjoyed the 5 color rice vermicelli bowl, but the pho and beef stew soup were just ok.
Hanging out at the absolutely lovely restaurant I forgot the name of- the patio was gorgeously decked out for a summer night. THE PARLOR. Thats the name. Really lovely place.
10 dollars for ALL pizzas including the Truffle pizza- SO GOOD. It was incredibly rich in flavor. The service was RIDIC awesome here too. Definitely a new fave place.
The best reminder summer is here is the RIDIC amount of dandilions we are getting. I heard the city is planning on mowing vs spraying- so this field was mowed but they seeded already, so that probably didn’t do anything.
Summer storms are hitting hard- there was a tornado touch down in the province today!
Busting hard on my blood pressure- I’m optimal everywhere. MACHINE.
H working ahrd at the gym and trying out the 2.5 vinyl dumbbell.
H experiencing the massive greenery everywhere.
Loving the flowers around the city.
Can’t believe how beautiful the city is right now. I hope its just as beautiful as my intenrship application- I hate paperwork so much.
H randomly investigating the grocery store.
Checked out Value Villiage for the first time and found lots of intersting things, and a lot of garbage. I can’t imagine anyone buying some of this stuff like exercise machines without the proprietary weights. Really had a blast looking for rare treasures here.
Oh you know, McDonalds and Burger King simultaneously- love the Whopper in particular. We had so much fun hitting them up both at the same time we had to do it again.
And sometimes just straight up enjoying Wendy’s – the Baconator is not as good as the Whopper. In other post workout news, I WRECKED my lower back from deadlifts this week and will be taking an extended period off. I am now taking warming up far more seriously. Nothing new like different weights or different form. The same old workout. And the first set made something POP. It felt immediately scary. I managed to finish all 16 sets of 8 reps, but the last set had another pop. Took my sweet time between sets to take it easy. Post workout I had some really awkward sessions with clients as I wiggled around in my psych chair trying not to be in immense back pain.
One of my fave finds, the Green Onion Cake stuffed with spicy beef at Rice Bowl Deluxe- REALLY solid street food. So glad I found it after trying it out in Toronto.
H checking out the balls at Walmart.
H exploring the playground when it was still pretty cold.
