I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
The weather is starting to turn a little nasty these days. I’m hoping for a nice fluffy white Christmas but nothing crazy before and after that. I do like grabbing a hot drink with the snow blowing fiercely outside though.
Working on a Sunday. Depressing. This is my little island of space in all the isolation. It really is depressing to work alone in a place that is normally hopping with people.
Overlooking the university transit center and HUB mall.
Eating chicken with flat noodles out by myself in Business Quad. Very peaceful and relaxing in between marking psych assessments.
Education 4th floor atrium is one of the nice spots in the building. Its a wonderful space to work in but I rarely go here.
Its just nice here. I think it has a lot to do with the clientele they work with. The population here is very different from the population on Whyte ave. The workers in the northside location are just that much more friendly.
Working late in the ed building means that its SUPER DEPRESSING. Whoever designed this building was certainly not thinking about the complete lack of sunlight or any possible form of happiness. Its as clinical as it can get and yet its not a clinical building. I’ve put up lots of warm amenities inside my offices to try to liven it up, but its definitely depressing sometimes. Most of the time.
Graduations! Sister nabbed her doctorate the other week and got to see her grab that sucker. I’m definitely looking forward to the day I get to get mine. Not because I want to call myself a doctor. Because I WANT TO BE DONE. It will feel so good. Its always nice to see all the happy faces supporting the new grads.
Veggies and beef on minimal noodles- probably the one thing I was a little sad about at Buddy. I wish there was more noodles.
Nighttime rush hour. I love how clonked it gets heading south. Very very happy I don’t have to fight this traffic at the end of the day.
I like going to Buddy northside. Its warm and inviting and the service is stellar. Some dim sum with my Hainan chicken. I definitely don’t like iced coffee as much as iced hk tea.
Hainan chicken at Buddy northside. It was pretty good. I was pretty certain they use Sapporo Ichiban chicken soup stock to make the rice. The food overall was not too bad, definitely nowhere near my fave at Phoenix in Markham, but not bad for Edmonton.
