I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
I became the big 3-0 and ….and it felt ok. I guess this is one of those ages that your life flashes in front of you. Just glad I had a wonderful group of family and friends keeping me happy – my clinic team grabbed a cake out of nowhere and addressed my emotional state, as appropriate in a mental health facility.
My wife and dad coordinated a special gift- a glass and wood stand for my headphones. I’ve been dying for a nice display case for my cans and looks like dad based the design off the audio technica stands. I love it- I can put in five or six of my fave cans.
Decided to argue on the internet the other day about headphones- I haven’t done an internet argument in so long because I realized what a stupid and fruitless endeavor it was…but I gave in again and…it was pointeless and stupid as I remember.
Franks hot dogs for lunch courtesy of building management- delish and welcome.
Gunning more stairs- had the MOST satisfyign run the other night- I was running neck and neck with this girl who was trying to pass me the last half of the stairs- finished with a tie and turned around to give her props- just so satisfying and mutual respect between fellow competitors. Also, the summer weather is AMAZING. Its still 20 degrees out at night.
Damaged box goodness- the Microsoft Wedge Mouse was in perfect condition, just an old battery that needed replacement- its super super tiny and bluetooth powered so no dongle needed to lose.
I love this nifty battery cover- snaps open like a switchblade.
So it pairs well with the Surface RT it was designed for- compact and premium feeling. I still hate typing on that touch keyboard though.
W sent me a pic of a gym at the hotel she was staying in Texas- looks pretty solid in here- would love to put up a sweat in this.
WHAT IS THIS. The Sony DSC-F828 for 50 bucks! That’s what it is! The flagship of Sony’s 2004 lineup, it was in MINT condition and absolutely pristine. It is a BEAST- that big 28-200mm F2.0-2.8 lens is fast and massive. Unfotunately it is limited by an 11 year old sensor that shows massive noise above ISO 100 (seriously!).
I just love handling this beast- its an absolute pleasure feeling how solid this piece of photography history sat on the throne with the likes of the Canon Powershot Pro1 and Nikon 8800 amongst others. Sony didn’t even have a DSLR at this point. Definitely going to have a blast with this beast from the past.
