I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Its a glum glum week in the city- lots of rain, snow, sleet, fog and grey.
The other day, flurries completed blanketed the city the entire day.
Hitting chest day- I’m feeling really comfortable with my flat bench strength, but my decline bench is giving me muscle pulls near my collarbone that I am not a fan of. I’ll have to keep an eye on that- don’t want to strain myself.
Fixing my Smartwatch 2- the microUSB port cover keeps falling off- Krazy Glue didn’t work last time- hoping this one will stick good.
Salted chicken with rice for lunch at Taipan- the chicken itself was ok, but not great. The sauce was nice though- there was a nice salty textured flavor.
Chow mein. Always a fan of noodles.
Trying out the e-mount Sony Macro F3.5 30mm. I really like the idea of a macro but the lens itself is just a weird focal length and aperture.
It crtainly focuses very very close and provides a level of detail I would not get with just shooting macro with one of my small sensor cameras. I wish it had some other features like OSS and a brighter lens and maybe a different focal length. I guess that would shoot the price up though- its around 300 CDN right now, and the next lens is a full frame FE 90mm OSS F2.8 at 1400 CDN.
Beans, Salisbury steak and egg with Japanese mayo.
Cupcakes- day olds for half off- really nice combination of flavors here- the banana split was really good. These cupcakes are super super delish and filled with flavor without too much sweetness. Whimsical Cupcakes.
Dinner at Canteen for A’s bday- really liked the atmosphere and lighting.
Stuffed dates- this was one of the best dishes- it combined the sweetness of dates with smoky bacon and sausage.
Corn bread with maple syrup- this was good but not as mind blowing as the dates.
Crisp pork- really rich flavors here. Three kinds of pork cuts- my fave was the crisp pork belly.
Duck- this was a nice rich flavor- I can’t remember how they cooked this.
Dessert at Remedy cafe ended up being samosas because I was still hungry. I have realized I really don’t care much for chai lattes- this was the vanilla rooibos chai latte. I just prefer straight up coffee.
