I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
The sun set on the clinic last week and it was the end of an era- saying good bye to friends, mentors, teachers….its hard. I’m not sure what the future will bring but its a change I’m not necessarily ecstatic about. Its like being in school on the last day and looking for your friends- they’re all gone. Blah.
Went to dinner at the River Cree Casino for their all you can eat seafood buffet. It was really happening in here- they have hospitality down pat- really impressed with how helpful staff were here.
This is the first plate- I got in about three plates and then it got gross. SOOOO delish and so fun when you are starving and excited.
The big deal of the day- king crab legs that were perfectly cooked with a nice brine.
Museels pan fried
Butterfuly shrimp- this was one of my faves.
It was quite gran inside- something you don’t really see in the city.
Pan frying some breakfast sausage this morning.
Of course I stepped by the Sony store – its closing in freaking two weeks. I would love to know what they are doing with all their store hardware
It was kind of sad in here- the staff heard about the closures last minute and its gonna be job searching for them- its crazy- I remember some of these guys all the way from Southgate back in 2002. Some of them came all the way over from the east coast.
Gonna hate not being able to see all the hardware on display and trying things out.
Especially this stuff- being able to try out their high end hardware in person is something that you cannot get from your regular electronics retailer. Fortunately something awesome happened yesterday- that set of flagships here- they’re mine now.
The MDR-Z7 was announced just last fall- it falls in the DNA of the flagships of yesteryore- the Sony MDR-R10 wooden/biocellulose cans, the Qualia 010, the MDR-EX1000 earphones (I would have put the MDR-SA5000 up there but I guess the Qualia 010 is considered to super flagship).
This is the surprise at the bototm of that DNA strand- the Sony MDR-Z7. They sold it for half off and it was in mint condition- it was a no brainer.
One of the last times I will have a Sony bag- its all online after this.
Nice packaging wth a little cloth pull out tab on top.
Serialized numbers and nice presentation- I wish it came with a stand like the MDR-SA5000s did.
Its so luxurious feeling- its easily the most premium set of cans I have had the pleasure of seeing- leather/magnesium make up most of the build.
Its so so so gorgeous- it sounds awesome too.
Picked up some Smartband covers for cheap too- I love the purple/yellow in particular. Matches my gym attire.
And I guess that’s life-its full of ephemeral moments- you have to move on and learn to experience it now while its there. I don’t think I have had such a emotional connection to a retail outlet. Good bye.
Grabbing a blonde roast before heading home to open up my audio bliss.
