I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
This is the dream- one of my favorite things to do is to just take in the atmosphere, reflect, think and process. I’d love to own an attic nook like this one day and just do all my reflections. I’d have a slicker computer set up than this though. 🙂
Boxing day lunch consisted of pretzels and cinammon buns because the lines were insane everywhere. The pretzel was sinfully delicious.
Morning hash at Urban Diner with friends. I love corned beef with hollandaise sauce.
W had smoked salmon eggs benedict.
Remedy Cafe with buds reminiscing over our personal achievements this year. I’ve been really focused on professional competency in clinical psychology practice with daily readings. Its kind of fallen off the map this week with Christmas but it’ll be back today.
Going to West Ed Mall means you can only find parking with a off road vehicle.
My finds for boxing day – got some great deals on already on sale items. Accessories mostly for my equipment and almost all of it Sony.
Picked up the Sony SBH50 bluetooth adapter- acts as a remote control with a little display so that I can make any headphone into a wireless headset- useful for a lot of things like in the gym or answering calls and not havigng to dig my phone out my bag.
Got to find a Sony Reader cover with backlight on clearance for a third of the MSRP. Awesome because they said they were sold out across Canada and I found one randomly hidden in the glass at my fave store, London Drugs.
Its kind of cool how it pops out all transformer like from the back. I LOVE THIS SETUP. It just works so well.
Picked up the HLV-F20m flash for my a6000 – its a bit cumbersome and I’m not totally sold on it yet compared to my other portable flash, the Nikon SB400. I’ll have a steep learning curve learning to get the most out of this cam.
Picked up the Sony OEM case for my a6000 and it fits like a glove. Loved how they did little things like allow the top to tilt to make it slide in and out easier.
My friends were getting rid of their weight racks and I was the lucky recipient of a free weight rack so now all my iron plates look like a bizarre testosterone iron Christmas tree. Pretty pleased with this. Also scored a pair of new dumbbells.
My old running track in undergrad- haven’t ran here in a long time. Lost a lot of fat and got in shape doing laps here and stairs occasionally on the stands. Always liked running by the climbing wall and seeing everyone go at er.
My old haunts where I really started to crank the weights and build my strength up. This was an awesome time where some great friends were made and gains were achieved. I hated the limited cardio machines but I loved the weights and TBH loved breaking new ground in strength in front of everyone. Group effects.
This is the new gym- TONS OF CARDIO MACHINES. There are two levels of cardio and they are all spanking new with screens to distract you from the monotonous grind.
I have no idea what these are- they might be power racks or some cross fit thing.
The new weight racks look REALLY depressing. Off in the corner away from everyone. No more group effects. TBH I don’t really like working out in public facilities anymore because I hate waiting for machines, especially during circuits.
Its a beautiful building and again- I love the two floors of cardio. That was the worst area to wait for a machine.
The new climbing wall looks really slick too. Love the design.
It looks incredibly modern all around- I can’t believe how craptacular my alma matter building looks compared to this.
I must be honest here- I am very tempted to pick up a RX10 one day. After realizing the limitations of the compact but unremarkable 16-50 PZ lens, havign a 28-200 mm F2.8 lens would be awesome . I wouldn’t have to keep wanting MORE LIGHT PLEASE in my lens.
Got to touch but not listen to the Harman Kardon Esquire Mini – so freakign compact and would be a lovely addition to my bag. Don’t need it though and the reviews are lackluster. But the design is premium and tight.
