I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Hot pot at Hot Pot 97- different with individual hot pot and I just ate meat all night. I was the only one who got his money’s worth because I overate the beef.
Hot food for a sore throat from the cough I still freaking have. Good thing hot pot was individual so I didn’t give my disease to everyone.
Really beautiful at night here.
Walking around the Legislature at night
Tried this feature on the Sony A6000 that takes a whole bunch of images and combines them to reduce noise.
Really pretty grove of trees.
Really nice hanging out with friends.
This BOSE speaker system was accidentally picked up from our wedding, and I got to listen to it before returning it. I was all ready to hate on it (Buy Other Sound Equipment) but I was left very impressed. They sounded remarkable for vocals- easily the better choice compared to my Audioengine A5+ that I thought would win out. Despite being a single speaker stack, the multiple drivers inside really opened up the soundstage. I loved how portable they are too- everything slides into two carryable packages.
Walking around late at night and found the Telus stadium
Walked into the stadium and got to see the practice grounds for the local baseball team.
Really bright at night with the stadium lights.
Crispy chicken with garlic soy sauce. This was quite good.
This was kind of disappointing- Ma-po tofu with not much kick to it and no meat.
Hanging out at the water fountains.
W made a nice set of chicken wing stir fry
And really really delicious pork and egg plant
Eating at Kobe Japanese restaurant- rolls and bento box
The wait was really long to get in but it was totally worth it
Really nice hole in the wall restaurant.
One of the loaded pizzas that I loved. It was really delicious and filling but perhaps not as refined because it was just a monster load of toppings.
My phone took a better shot of the pizza than my Sony A6000- this was a simpler and more sophisticated pizza.
My favorite. Tons of toppings.
Eating at Tony’s Restaurant – brushetta and Italian stir fry for appetizers
At the doctors getting my cough checked out. So annoying. Kept me up all night.
I crashed in my TA office hours and made a chair bed, a classic move from my undergrad studying days.
Rainy day at work. I have some exciting news next week regarding work.
Making SPAM fried rice.
So good. So simple. So hungry. Mixed it with some preserved veggies for a nice kick in taste.
Got to try the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. I really like the 6 Plus but can’t get around the cost of it and the lack of expandable storage. It drives me nuts that its locked in storage. It felt great in the hand and was really luxurious in weight. It definitely has the design edge over my LG G3. Specs wise I can’t believe my phone which is a third the price of this 16GB Plus at Rogers, is better specced in many ways. I would still love to have a 6 Plus.
Visiting the new Hi-Res demo station at the Sony store in WEM.
This ZX1 35th anniversary walkman felt sooooo good in the hand and the tactile buttons were amazing. The sound was really solid and I’d definitely pick this up if I had the cash floating around.
Didn’t get to try the PHA-2 headphone amp.
This Hi-Res audio set up sounded good, but honestly I don’t think I would have been blown away if I bought it. With the Samsung DA-E750 in my hands, the speakers I’ve heard haven’t been night and day anymore in difference. They do look fabulous though and I love the gold ring indicator that the High-Res sector is branding its equipment with.
