I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Cold and rainy outside my study table in CAB basement. I thought these ponds were a huge waste of money when i first saw them years ago, but now I love them. They really add to the greenery of campus.
Dips- back in the workout mix again but this time I’m throwing them into all of my workouts- chest, triceps and shoulders. Been pretty good so far.
Started bent over lateral raises for shoulder day- trying out a whole slew of new workouts after not changing things up for about a year and a half at least. Really happy with the soreness the morning after.
Using the dip machine for traps training- I lock them over my shoulders and shrug away. I’ve also used it lowered for hammer grip shrugs.
Running and enjoying a set of stairs. I started something new- instead of using just calves, I’m pushing with my glutes/quads – just like training my back has helped with my arm workouts, the bigger muscles in the thighs and butt have a lot of potential that is untapped compared to using calves alone. It was quite good actually- I felt like I had a lot of reserve power when I got to the top.
Even my chest day got a change- instead of ten sets of eight reps on the bench press/flyes/push ups, I did eight sets of 10 bench press, then moved onto flyes at max weight and then dips. It was really exciting because I have been doing circuits for so long that to just do one exercise at a time. There’s more down time because of more sets but it was a nice change. I feel a bit more lazy though because of that. STRAIN. So far I have been pretty excited about all these new perspective shots with my Sony Action Cam. I’ve never had a picture from my POV doing a press.
Eggplant and beef for dinner- so good- there’s something about the fatty beef flavor that melts in the whole deal that just makes it amazing.
W made a series of sweet pan fried chicken thighs- also so so good with a little/a lot of Siracha hot sauce.
Got the combo meat plate at La Shish- new management there and they piled the meat on- pricey for fast food, but really good for fast food. So much meat, lots of pickled veggies and the meat was so so tasty. Its got volume and taste.
Lots of rainy days this week. Its been a cold one here in town. I’m going to be wrapping up my studies this week at Bio Sci and its kind of sad. I’ve really enjoyed this brief undergraduate study term- its been kind of like a zen/sabbatical for me.
Beef and green beans- another delicious beef infused dish that I love.
I love the pitter patter as I cram information in my head.
ABS DAY. I changed my abs workout today as well! Brought back leg raises (hanging off my door frame chin up bar) and shortened the sets and increased the reps. I need to figure better padding though- my tail bone digs right into the ground when I do ab day and its super sore after. Like only my abs should be sore on ab day. Overall the new challenges have been really exciting this week.
Egg and tomato for dinner. I’m such a huge fan of infusing yolk over rice.
