I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
So I recently discovered an answer to a problem I have been having lately – in my daily commutes carrying two bags means that if I am listening to music the cable ends up being snagged somehow on my shoulder straps to the point where it snagged so hard it broke my Note II’s headphone jack. Lo and behold an answer I have had this whole time- the iPod nano 5th gen (?) and Sony MDR-EX71SL headphones are perfect to strap on my breast pocket or shoulder strap and good enough for the commute to work/school. So far I have trimmed all my playlists to fit the 8GB capacity perfectly and the little bugger is making me pretty happy. I still carry my Walkman Z and XBA3 earphones for sit down studying but this is great as a commute piece.
W made a quick instant noodle lunch on steroids- ham, egg and carrots
Big breakfast for the morning push on the last day to study for midterms. Pan fried burrito and salad- its a monster breakfast but I need energy for studying.
Went for a BBQ at my aunt’s and had a ginormous helping of meat- pork sausage, chicken wings and steak. So so good. Its been too long since my last BBQ.
Fresh salad to compliment the meaty BBQ
And now some close ups of my favorite food group.
This sausage was absolutely divine.
The steak- perfectly medium rare, although rare would have been even better.
Dad made some shrimps/celery for dinner
Some seafood pasta at my folks.
Assorted BBQ meats from Chinatown – you can tell I love meat.
Studying in the Bio Sci lawn. It was ridiculously crazy how quick the temperature changed.
The greenery is really popping out now- I’m glad I got to take spring classes to witness the green birth of spring.
I’ve seen this building way too many times- and yet there are so many niches in it I don’t know of
Capturing the spring buds- a week later and its full blown summer.
The mini quad between Bio Sci and the Centennial building.
The Bio Sci greenhouse where I spent many senior undergrad years battling aphids and hanging out with attempted romantic dates.
This place is FREAKY at night- it just looks like a place where people are hiding around every corner
I remember loving this little nook on the Bio Sci rooftop- you could access it by a ladder at the greenhouse- but now it looks kind of stupid with all the new taller buildings right beside it. I took a date here once and failed miserably hehe.
Looking at the River Valley from my secret stairs study area. Its not that secret. Its a chair and a window. Its so nice here- one of the finer things of Edmonton is definitely the greenery
W made a really diverse lunch for me.
Enjoying the spring weather in Quad
Rotisserie chicken and frozen veggies for lunch
Chicken wings and frozen veggies. I am getting my fiber on real good.
I helped my cousin fix his computer and then I did a spyware scan. Spytbot Search and Destroy found this many spyware items. I usually find like two. It was crazy. Sometimes it blows my mind when I work with non-computer people on their computers. Its sometimes foreign to me when I meet people who are not immersed in my own hobbies- what seems natural and common sense is only natural because I have spent all my waking hours reading about this stuff while other people have gone out the house and done cool stuff. Hehe
