I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
So I’ve been training pretty good with my lifts as usual, but my cardio is just absolute shite. My bachelors party is going to be in two months at Tough Mudder and its at least three times longer than the Spartan sprints I have trained for in the past. My training has been great for the challenges like this rope climb done by yours truly last year, but the hills and cardio…..Ever since I started training legs, I really have added a lot of weight to my frame and running is freaking tough. I’m just doing my regular Victoria hill run and I can’t make it to the top, nevermind any of the challenging stairs and hills I was hitting last year. Its going to be a rough two months but I gotta get that cardio back. Its freaking four times more than my regular 4 KM run. With obstacles. Its funny, I thought that training legs would give me a step up on stairs, but I guess its just like my other lifts. I’ve done a great job moving really heavy objects slowly and repeatedly but not in quick bursts of energy over long durations.
Training biceps the other day. I am happy to say I am fully back from my sickness and I am no longer weazing from my lifts like before. Its been great. Even though I felt well, my lifts were just terrible and I was absolutely out of breath.
Waiting for a package this morning downtown at the Three Bananas Cafe. Wish I had actually bought some of their local fare rather than a random juice in a bottle. I plan on coming back here on the weekend. The atmosphere was just fabulous to kick back in.
Rainy nights like these make me really appreciate having a car, even if its just a little 109hp hamster. Especially when I am hauling my mobile office. I pride myself in my strength but I find it annoying to haul crap in the rain.
Parents dropped off some Chinatown treats. I recall loving these cream filled beauties a lot more when I was a kid. They are really exciting to look at though.
I managed to snag a Sony Discman D-EG7 off Kijiji. It was freaking awesome. I have wanted this model for so long- since grade 8. West Edmonton Mall put out a summer flyer with each store advertising something cool and this UFO discman was Sony Store’s ad. I held on that ad for years and I still have it, like 16 years later. Obviously I won’t get much use out of it, but for 15 bucks on a near mint condition childhood fantasy, its a deal.
It even came with its original Sony Streetstyle headphones. Its a beast of a Discman.
What’s this in my mail?!
Its the Sony Action Cam adrenaline junkie bundle! With the WiFi equipped AS15 camera, I can record my runs and the tough Mudder. I’ve always wanted to take shots during my runs but carrying a cam is clumsy. This is great for blogging my runs. Super psyched over it.
It came with a lot of stuff. I got a really good deal (like a third of the price!) from the Sony website. Obviously this is right in my Sony Renaissance. I’m planning on attaching it to my arm for running.
