I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Studying in McDonald’s. Its a decent place for work because of free coffee refills. The Wifi kind of sucks though and I usually make my own hotspot with my phone. I find working in coffee shops really stimulating compared to trying to get stuff done at home.
Protein breakfast. I can’t cook eggs. I seriously disappoint all the cooks in my family lineage.
The Sony store continues its closure and I picked up two tablet stands and a float device for the Sony Actioncam. I’ll talk about the actioncam later. The guy at the Sony store was like “its really nice that there’s more traffic in our store now. Now that its closing. We didn’t have that before”. Its kind of sad. I’m hanging like a vulture for sales at my fave store, and these guys are losing their jobs. I think I’m the worst kind of customer. To be fair I don’t think Sony is targetting poor grad students for sales.
Garden Bakery downtown for dinner. Tomato chicken with baked rice.
Egg drop beef noodles and some cold Yin Yeung (coffee/milk tea). Place was a little greasy to me, but the service and the food was great.
This was really well cooked. Tender beef and shrimp.
They provided complimentary soup and it was fantastic.
Went to Tropika with M- pad thai noodles were so so.
The roti was ok, but not as good as I remember it to be.
Satay skeweres were quite good and half off on Thursdays.
Food for the sick- wor tip and congee.
Congee is just so calming when your body is freaking aching and you aren’t that hungry but know you must eat anyways. I haven’t been so sick that I am not hungry in a really long time. I am always hungry. Usually.
My haunts for the next month and a bit. Biological sciences building where I had a lot of intro science lab work done and where spring term courses will be.
Cold rainy day for course registration.
This building is just a classic to me. Rumor has it that 6 architects worked individually on this building and they never collaborated, so there are places that don’t even join despite being the same floor. There is a rumor that there are more windows outside than inside so there might be totally blocked off areas that are inaccessible.
Cloudy spring day.
The typical bio sci hallway. Did lots of massive prelab cramming in these hallways
Its kind of crazy to think how separate the psychology department and the clinical psych programs are at the university. I never thought I’d be doing clinical psych despite taking psych courses in my undergrad.
Went to Futureshop and tried some random items. I really liked the power from the Bose Soundlink Mini but its a really big device and not something I can carry everyday in my man purse
The Denon cans were good but not great. They were also really expensive for what they were and I generally dislike their new design compared to the previous Denon lineup.
The Bowers and Wilkins P7 was a can I wanted for a really long time but seeing it in person just kind of turned me off. They were really bulky and not quite the sexy sophisticated metal/leather sculpture that the BW P5 was to me. Or you know, I’m kind of saturated with headphones and I need to stop buying them and everything is boring cause I don’t need anymore.
Nice photos 🙂
