I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Out on my way to practicum. I LOVE MY PLACEMENT. I’m operating on such a different theory of intervention right now for clinical psychology and I am learning so much right now. The two big things I am figuring out are attachment theory and the neurorelational framework- this is a really awesome perspective because it really focuses on molding all disciplines in understanding psychopathology- I’m working on a really interesting cross discipline team right now and its just so exciting and strengthening to have all inputs on a client case. Also winter and side roads are terrible right now.
I ended up tryign to replace all my watch batteries by myself- this was kind of ok for most of them, but the DKNY watches ended up being a bit of a fixing game that I won! But the Nixon blue murf? That thing is broken. I now understand why I was charged extra to replace the battery last time- the Nixon engineers really botched the itnernals and made it way too complicated. Seriously. WTF Nixon. I probably won’t buy another Nixon solely because of this- I can’t really explain it, but they made it unnecessarily complicated.
So um this happened. I had to purge some funds rather rapidly and so this lead to a weekend of extreme tech. I picked up the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate (which is AWESOME BTW). I love the cherry blue mechanical keys on this- combining a wonderful typing experience and the neon green glow is amazing. Also picked up a Sony VAIO Duo 13 and a premium VAIO charger (theres a carrying case and two 1.5 Amp USB chargers built in)
The VAIO Duo 13 is amazing. It has almost 1.43 tiems the battery capacity of my VAIO S15 (6320mah vs 4400mah) and with Haswell’s battery sipping functions, I get a full day of work done with plenty of juice left- no more extra batteries or chargers- I’m going to class at nine and finishing class at seven pm- and leaving with 30% battery left. THATS RIDICULOUS. I dont get the full numeric keyboard, the 15.5 inch screen or the Nvidia graphics of my S15, but I do get to be free of a charger and extra weight to carry. Very impressed.
The Audioengine A5+ is an audiophile grade speaker set that has a fantastic mid range and treble. I love them. I’m still debating if I should pair them with a sub, because they really excel even without one.
Sony MDR-7520- its their professional top of the line monitor- its only for professional use (at least its only sold on the Sony business wing- Sony Biz Canada (which is realllllly not business sounding by name)). It sounds wodnerful and is made of magnesium, my favorite material. Its amazing. I love it.
