I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
So I found out the Surface RT can use the USB port with audio devices- put the Logitech z305 speaker in and boom insta stereo sound. Really pleased with that.
Doing abs with CT Fletcher on youtube as my trainer/motivation.
Got to see the RX10 in the Sony Store. REALLY liked the idea of an 8x zoom with a f2.8 constant aperture and 1 inch sensor. Cannot think of spendinf 1399 on a camera now. Really nice all in one camera though.
Device looked fantastic, but I can’t justify a 1000 dollar device when my 199 dollar Surface RT can fulfill all my needs.
Trying some jackets on at the Bay. Really crazy sale- 50% off and another 20% off with the Bay card. Picked up some formal items cause I GOT HUGE. I’m now 200 lbs and this is a huge contrast to when i was 140 lbs when running. Not sure how I feel about this. I know I am a lot bigger and a lot stronger but not sure if I want to be this big or if I want to look like an Olympic lifter. Had to find a special sized suit and pants to fit me. The big problem was my thighs – it used to be my gut but my thighs just dont work anymore- I think (hopefully) its my leg workouts paying off. I think they are. My legs feel like tree trunks now. I also went for a run today and I can say that although tiring I am back in running form in terms of speed/distance- 3 miles in 30 minutes for my 200lb frame.
These shoes were PERFECT but not on sale. They fit my feet like a glove.
Watching Catching Fire with SX – really good and enjoyed the storyline. I did not expect a lot of things to happen in the story.
En route- train station.
Eating at IKEA restaurant- meatball dinner.
Fish and chips for 2.99- really poor fish but fries were great.
Almond dessert- you can see where I am questioning whether my change in sizes is my diet or lifting bigger.
Christmas at IKEA.
Love the cozy nature of the IKEA restaurant.
Its just really friendly feeling inside.
Nobody was eating with us.
Dumplings, my comfort food.
Office looking outside into my great view of nothing.
Seasons greetings!
My cubicle farm space.
HUGE find- JBL OnBeat Air at Winners for 22 bucks- the non air play version is still 180 at the Apple store.
2.0 sound system- sounds decent and brings new life to my iPod classic 80GB. Has a small bass port in the back. Sounds decent and has a remote control. Really happy with this find.
My insta lunch- Uncle Bens and frozen spicy shanghai noodles. I think my MSG load is crazy here.
At MP’s watching his little remote chopper fly around inside. We watch Insidious 1 and 2 and really enjoyed them. Its been a long time since I have been scared of a storyline and they were both fantastic and fit it so well with each other.
MP had some chicken sovlaki
Grabbed three curry combo that the lady was kind enough to give me more rice! Swoon. Two kinds of rice. I love it.
My old haunts when I used to do child care years ago- used to spend tons of time running around this playground
Had some really great memories from this job- the commute was killer though- at least 45 min on the bus one way.
Eating pho for lunch. Really good at some Vietnamese place in the west end.
This was TERRIBLE- the noodles were deep fried to nothingness so it was like eating stir fry on chips.
Lunch with the parents at Good Buddy Whyte ave. Beef and veggies.
XO Sauce beef stew- I love the amount of beef you get with this.
Sweet and sour fried fish.
Crispy soy sauce chicken.
Dinner with SX before catching fire at Springroll Kitchen south end.
Three color rice vermicelli bowl.
Checking out the Grandin station- I always loved the random transit station in this neighborhood- it felt like some Harry Potter transport spot to me. Really cozy neighborhood.
Love the ambient light here at night.
Fresh snow falling.
Really wanted to get this for awhile- Toshiba Qosmio x875- Nvidia 770m and lots of space inside to add parts- but the heating on this is supposed to be terrible and I’ve had enough heating issues with the HP tablet I had.
Asus G750 looks slick – I’d play so much Starcraft 2 on this.
765m to bust out some moves
So I got to play with my second Windows 8 tablet in a week with the Dell Venue Pro 8 we picked up for W’s uncle overseas. Good price at 199 for a full Windows OS! It was 99 for the first twenty people to line up- I heard people lined up at 6:30 AM this morning and stores open at 10AM. Not worth it to me, but pretty slick deal for sure.
Nice rubberized back and a really great feel. I really like the 7-8 inch size tablets cause of how easy on the hands they are for weight distribution.
Compared to my surface RT- Great find and tons of power inside with the new Intel Bay Trail chipset. Kind of crazy how far tablets have come since my Nokia N800 purcahse- its gone from running some terrible unintuitive mobile OS to full blown Windows in a device I could put in a cargo pocket. That’s insane. And the battery life is not one hour. Wow.
