Fabricland where all my wildest dreams about fabrics came true. Kind of.

I like their big logos. But it kind of makes me feel like a corporate shill eating this stuff haha. Like eating a fad, like Beats headphones
Got to try the Sony VAIO Duo 13 in the campus computer store. Really impressed with what Sony did with design here. Only 3 lbs but lots of power behind the machine and plenty of battery with Haswell processors. Can’t stand the lack of numeric keyboard and dedicated GPU though and the minature keyboard- after using a mini keyboard on the HP Tablet TX1000 series I won’t go back.
It was pretty good but I wasn’t blown away by it
Dim sum in Chinatown
Battlefield 3 in McDonald’s study session with S. One of the reasons I love my Sony purchase. The Nvidia 740M LE has surprisingly kept up with modern games, but I won’t push it too much cause the cooling system on this laptop is insufficient to support rigorous gaming IMO. The heating vents are styled well, but don’t seem very efficient at all. I will only game on my cooling fan for longer periods.
I cannot believe how awesome this combo purchase was last year. Walkman Z with sound I can really appreciate now, and the VAIO S15 with no real replacement this year. LOVE IT! So happy I did this purchase, even better than the Apple promos when they use to have buy a macbook get an ipod free deal (got a 4th gen iPod and 3rd gen iPod touch!). Very happy with it and now superbly happy with the Sony MDR-1Rs. I love their sound and style.
The most dangerous crosswalk in Edmonton. Cannot see pedestrians here at night at all. Studying with S.
Hit up Hawrelak Park with W for a night study session.
Out in the park with WiFi courtesy of my Note II and LTE speeds. Cannot believe how much tech has improved in the last few years.
Steak from W
Lamb stew. W is getting amazing at dinners.
Late night bubble tea at Dream Tea. Red bean smoothie for me and papaya bubble tea for W.
Relaxing on the sofa. I’ve downsized my everyday bag to the smaller ones and am using my full size laptop bags for work/lunch. Much better for my back.
Sparkly decorations inside.
Dim dum at Dynsaty restaurant today. Very very good and not far of a drive for us.
Thought I’d do a quick photoshoot with my current headphone stable. I love these Sonys and they are possibly the best designed piece of kit I have used in awhile. Sound is very fun- musical but not clinical. I wouldn’t put these on to get that live in concert feel, but more for a enjoy the beat while I read moment.
These Shure SRH840s are the clinical cans. They make good recordings sound amazing and bad ones sound like the radio. I use these for when I want to hear everything in the song.
These Skullcandy MixMasters are the surprise hit. Looking absolutely terrible in glitzy cheap plastic and fake chrome, I thought I would not be able to stand them. But they have a very good low end and make electronica and dance sound fabulous. The rolled off highs are very good for this music so its not super fatiguing.
The Beyerdynamic DT1350s are another beautiful headphone. They feel like they are made for war and have the best build quality out of all my headphones. They do the whole range very well, but aren’t as detailed as the SRH840s. They are very good for portable use and are another fun sounding headphone, although the clamping is fairly strong with them.
The Sennheisser PMX680 Adidas collaboration are a very good set for workouts. They sound fairly good and are SUPER stable in the ears when running, something I absolutely must have. Not to mention they are sweat proof, something I can’t say for my other non athletic headphones. I don’t like that the band gets in the way during bench press, but they are very very well designed for workouts overall.
I love these. The Sony XBA3s are very very good especially with the highs. I’m not sure if they are a musical or a clinical headphone, although I am leaning more to clinical, but they are super portable and sound fantastic when paired with my Walkman Z. I am having a hard time choosing between these and the MDR-1Rs when I go out.
Studying out in SUB with W. Or just eating.
The B&O H6 are possibly the most beautiful headphones I’ve seen in awhile, like the first time I picked up the Bowers & Wilkins P5. Very very well built with real leather and lambskin and aluminum finishing. Sound is very good but not enough compared to my current stable to pony up for them (439CDN!). I’d rather look at a more specialized headphone like the AKG Q701.
Somebody mangled the office cake. It looks like they bit all the edges.
