I am a practicing clinician, a recent doctoral graduate who finally graduated school but will never leave school, a huge technology lover, a man constantly fighting off the fat, and a father.
Suddenly realized that one of the things I could do that would let me appreciate the fine engineering that Sony engineers have created but are now obsolete is taking the old casings and replacing the innards with new updated specs. Started researching old VAIOs and couldn’t really find anything that jumped out…until I saw the VAIO RM1- its a two tower design with all the drives, optical discs, media card readers and some weird usb toggle in the front, while the GPU and CPU are housed in a separate tower. SO COOOOOL. But alas, looks like very few actually shipped to US, so finding one used is going to be very tough. Not to mention that I bet getting an updated GPU to fit in that case would be pretty tough. Sigh.
Hardcore rain and hail today in the early evening thunderstorm. Campus looks bleak and I’m all cozy at home.
The rain hitting the high level bridge. I cannot believe two guys got jumped here in the late morning. WTF EDMONTON. Come on. Really? And one of them was handicapped. People are really really disgusting.
