Went with the fam to the Heritage Festival in Hawrelak Park today. It was ok. Nothing huge.
Sunnside as we walk to the lake. I yelled at some kids throwing rocks at ducks and then they got mad and glared at me. I was ok with this. I’d rather them respect the wildlife and hate me than keep doing their thing and harming others (including animals).
Went with O to Sakana for a work lunch on Thursday. Had some pretty good lunch deals for six bucks so I bought 1.5 dishes haha. This was the maki combo. Ok, nothing spectacular, but not bad either.
Sakana soup was ok, spicy with some seafood. I wasn’t really blown away by it, but the lunch special price made it ok.
Had Timmies for lunch today. The soup was creamy sundried tomato and it just tasted weird. The chicken salad sandwich was pretty fresh and delicious though.
Had Taipan food for dinner. The usual Portuguese beef stew with cold HK style milk tea. Loved the milk tea. Really really miss it from our trip in Hong Kong. I really like having tea and dinner combos! And I ordered the half sweet half ice combo in Cantonese, so I was pretty pleased with that. My Chinese is improving well thanks to W’s good instructions haha.
Rainy night outside Taipan.
Just a nice warm day at Hawrelak Park for the Heritage Festival. I wasn’t too impressed with it this year mostly because we ate before hand and the food wasnt as enticing. There wasn’t really any huge acts happening either, mostly people blasting their music on huge speakers and lots of heat and sweat everywhere.
The ride home was crazy. The storms hit hard and fast and it was just nuts. Driving downtown was just beautiful cause of the lighting. The skies were a really nice and contrasty color with deep blacks, greys and fire like flames from the sun set. I was remarking on how good the colors were and how much I wanted to take photos, when BOOM! The thunder, lightning and rain came down hard and fast. And just as quickly as it came, it was over once we got home.
