There was a big warning for storms at eight pm today and part of the sky certainly looked nasty as I picked up a fan for the condo at Canadian Tire. But in the end nothing came down. I was tempted to go get pho at the local Vietnamese restaurant by Sueprstore, but then I didn’t really feel like spending money on restaurants without W around. Which is kind of freaky cause this is only the second night and she’s not back till September. AHHHH! The good thing is, unlike last summer, I have a car. This makes a world of difference so it doesn’t sting as much. I still can’t wait to have W home soon though. I already saw a few restaurants that would be really cozy and awesome to goto when she comes back.
The appetizers were alright. The beef tataki was terrible. It actually tasted like a cheeseburger for some reason. And the takoyaki balls didn’t have any shaved fish. I know I am being an elitist right now but its kind of disappointing. Sadface.
Had a sushi/sashimi combo at Kobe’s on the west side for M’s bday. Sushi definitely is one of the better offerings here with a much better quality than the majority of the city’s Japanese restaurants. However, I just wasn’t mind blown. I guess I have a hard time justifying this kind of cost (about 26 bucks) for dinner when Asia had mind blowngly awesome dinners for like 5 bucks. I would much rather eat Hong Kong cafe food. But this is for the best friend, so its all good. I just really really miss Hong Kong food. And Japan. Not so much Singapore.
